Dialogue was created with the purpose of promoting inter-disciplinary awareness and conversation. Unique in its content and approach, Dialogue is neither a political nor an artistic-literary magazine, but an intellectual journal comprised of essays on topics as diverse as philosophy, theology, history, science, mathematics and the arts.

Dialogue essay submissions should intimately connect to and derive from everyday experience as a college student. These essays are intended to be popularly accessible and written in a smart, reflective and conversational style.

Deadline

The deadline for all submissions is:
November 25, 2009

Requirements

All essays must be submitted as a Microsoft Word document, double-spaced. The file should be named by the title of the essay (i.e. Your_Title.doc)
Please include in the body of the email your name, Eagle ID number, Boston College email address, the name of your essay and which section you are submitting to: Social Sciences, Philosophy/Theology, Natural Sciences, or Literature/Arts.
Essays should be between 500 and 2500 words in length.
Due to the specific style of the journal, citations should be kept to a minimum, but when used should be complete with page numbers. Please also include a full bibliography.
Papers need not be written solely or specifically for Dialogue. Work done for past or current classes is certainly welcome, but please be aware of the nature of the journal and, if necessary, be willing to modify accordingly. We also encourage essays written in response to another author's work from a past issue.
To ensure the validity of the work, authors whose essays are chosen for the journal will be required to sign a waiver confirming their authorship and authorizing the publication of the work.
